According to Doyin Ijiwola, the lead partner of techciti.ng, the introduction of tech into business operations usually drastically reduces the cost of running the business. Sometimes, the initial cost may look huge but on the long run, the tech will pay for itself.

“Tech is available for different aspect of business. There are tech available for business operations, marketing, customer services, acquisition, human resources, accounting and every other area of business.

“There is a always a tech for every budget. Business owners should not be scared to embrace tech because of tech, rather they should get expert with track record to help them,” Ijiwola stated.

Doyin Ijiwola is not a newbie in leveraging Tech, having consulting for ivy schools and corporate firms to boost their business operations and improve educational performance among students and teachers for the former. He stated that, his journey in tech started many years ago, more than two decades.

“I was fortunate to venture into tech went the industry in Nigeria was still nascent. For singularity of purpose, doggedness to keep learning on the matter of interest, being focussed and growing no matter the challenges is the recipe for success in life just as it is for business. Ijiwola noted that having mentors to run to and be trained, and also the right company and peers to rub minds with, will suffice.

“It is important to have a smooth learning journey in tech. Staying current on the lastest trends in tech and get the basics right is also important,” he said.

Challenges

Talking of challenges faced by Doyin Ijiwola, the consultant noted that, “in the early days it was the cost of tools and cost of internet. Quality Tech education are also very expensive. But in this present age, the challenges will be the fast rate at which tech knowledge are getting obsolete and also there are
many choices and opportunities. When there are too many choices it can become overwhelming.”

Opportunities

Speaking directly on using tech to leverage business and maximise profit, the founder of techciti.ng said: “I will recommend that every business owner should key into the opportunities that digital marketing brings, digital marketing if used effectively can give any business exponential ROI because there are marketing tools that can help you target those who really need your products and services. AI is also a game changer. It is empowering business owners with skills and tools that they may not have been able to afford or know about. AI is making them available.

“Tech is also collapsing geography, you can be in a tiny corner of the world and be selling on a global scale. There are tech tools both free and paid available for every aspect of business that significantly upturn the outcome of any business venture.”

For entrepreneurs in 2025, Ijiwola enumerated that, it is important that every entrepreneur should embrace change and adapt to change. “Being flexible and open to trying new ways of doing things. The present business world, tech is a major advantage to those who have embraced it. They should also do away with trying to be perfect before they start, practise is what leads to perfection not the other way round. The fear of the unknown or what will people say are two habits that have limited the potentials of many business people,” he pointed out.
