The chairman of Rabah LGA in Sokoto State, Alhaji Yusuf Mohammed Rabah, has refuted reports claiming that several people were killed during a bandit attack on Tofa Village.

He confirmed that attackers believed to have come from Alikiru in Sububu Forest (Zamfara State) passed through Dankare and Dalijan before reaching Tofa, where they opened fire.

Security forces engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel. Two villagers sustained gunshot injuries, one of whom has been discharged.

Two female residents initially reported missing were later confirmed abducted by the attackers.

The bandits were forced to abandon rustled livestock due to strong resistance from security forces.
