Chairmen of the 16 local government areas in Kwara State have declared support for the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu.
The council chairmen announced their position in a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Kwara State chapter.
The communiqué, made available to LEADERSHIP in Ilorin, was signed by all 16 council chairmen.
According to the communiqué, the chairmen unanimously resolved to support Danladi-Salihu, citing his leadership experience, competence and capacity to sustain and consolidate the achievements of the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
They also reaffirmed their support for Governor AbdulRazaq, commending his leadership style and describing his administration as progressive, people-oriented and transformative.
The chairmen stated that Danladi-Salihu possesses the experience needed to continue ongoing development efforts in the state, adding that his working relationship with the governor had prepared him for higher responsibilities.
They further said the APC candidate had demonstrated commitment to governance and acquired leadership experience which, in their view, would enable him to build on the foundation laid by the current administration.
The chairmen pledged to mobilise support for the APC candidate and work within the confines of the law to secure victory at the polls.
