Ahead of the upcoming local governments election in Gombe State slated for Saturday, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdullahi Ganduje yesterday stormed the state to present flags to his party candidates from various local government areas and canvass support for them.

During the grand finale held at Pantami Stadium, Gombe, Ganduje hailed the performance of the state governor Inuwa Yahaya and urged the electorates to vote for the APC flag bearers in the Saturday’s polls in order to enable them to complement the state government’s developmental projects at the local government levels.

Ganduje said APC was sure of winning all the chairmanship and councillorship seats in the 11 local government areas and 114 wards of the state in view of the strength of the party and the opposition’s weaknesses.

While stressing the weakness of the opposition in the election, Ganduje noted that among the defectors he received during rally was a candidate from the opposition who was presented with PDP’s flag earlier in the week for the chairmanship election but dumped it to join the APC.

In his speech, Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed appreciation to Ganduje for coming to the state to participate in the grand campaign rally, present flags to the APC candidates in the forthcoming elections and receive decampees.

He said the APC was united nationwide and attributed it to the leadership qualities of the national chairman.
