LG Electronics has unveiled its new AI Cabin Platform, a next-generation in-vehicle solution powered by generative artificial intelligence, at CES 2026 in Las Vegas.
In a statement released yesterday, LG Electronics announced that the AI Cabin Platform, designed for high-performance computing systems in the automotive sector, runs on Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Cockpit Elite and aims to advance what LG describes as the AI-defined vehicle (AIDV) era.
The company also stated that the AI Cabin Platform integrates advanced generative AI models, including large language models, vision-language models, and image generation technologies, into its in-vehicle infotainment system.
Speaking on the development, President of LG Vehicle Solution Company, Eun Seok-hyun, said the company would continue to deepen partnerships to advance future mobility technologies, adding that the AI Cabin Platform is designed to deliver more responsive and personalised driving experiences.
According to LG, the platform uses data from internal and external vehicle cameras to analyse driving conditions and driver behaviour, allowing it to deliver personalised, context-aware assistance. For instance, the system can issue proactive safety alerts if it detects potential hazards the driver may have missed, as well as adapt infotainment interfaces based on environmental conditions and user preferences.
The company stated that the technology builds on its ongoing collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, which previously introduced a high-performance computing platform that integrates infotainment and advanced driver assistance systems into a single control unit.
