Lil Tjay Instigated Florida Casino Shooting That Injured Offset — US Police

Fresh revelations have emerged following the shooting of American rapper Offset at a Florida casino, with United States law enforcement authorities alleging that fellow artiste Lil Tjay instigated the violent altercation that led to the gunfire.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, investigators claim that Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt, directed members of his entourage to initiate a physical confrontation with Offset’s group on Monday evening at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

According to a report by TMZ, security footage reviewed by the police allegedly shows Lil Tjay exiting a vehicle, identifying Offset to his associates, and leading the group toward the Migos rapper before a “disorderly affray” broke out. Police further allege that Lil Tjay filmed the ensuing brawl on his mobile phone.

During the heat of the altercation, an associate of Lil Tjay reportedly brandished a firearm and discharged several rounds, one of which struck Offset. The victim was immediately rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he is currently recuperating.

Lil Tjay was subsequently arrested and booked into the Broward County Jail on Monday on a misdemeanour disorderly conduct charge. Following his release on Tuesday, the rapper further escalated the feud by publicly labelling Offset a “rat” in a viral video.

It would be recalled that both artistes have had previous brushes with the law and gun violence, with Lil Tjay himself surviving a near-fatal shooting in New Jersey in 2022. US authorities have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the specific individual who pulled the trigger.
