In his acceptance speech, Coker expressed gratitude for fellow members’ trust in him.

“Education is the cornerstone of societal development,” Coker emphasised, highlighting the club’s flagship project to improve infrastructure at Junior Secondary School, Gwarinpa 1.

“Our aim is to ensure that students have access to quality education in a conducive environment, enabling them to thrive academically and socially.

Beyond education, the new president also stressed the importance of health initiatives. Drawing attention to the club’s past success in supporting a young girl at the Utako School for the Blind.

He said, “Through our cornea transplant and cataract surgery initiatives, we will work to restore vision to those who have lost it. We will not just restore sight; we will restore independence and confidence.”

Speaking on hunger relief, Coker announced plans to expand the club’s food bank initiative to combat food insecurity in the community.

“No one should have to worry about where their next meal will come from,” he said, underscoring the importance of partnerships with local businesses, donors, and volunteers.

The ceremony also marked the end of Lion Salamatu Yahaya Bello’s term as the immediate past president. Reflecting on her tenure, she expressed pride in the club’s achievements, stating, “Together, we have made a significant impact, from organising health camps to supporting education and fostering unity through service.”

On his part, District 404-A2 Governor Lion, Sir Maurice Ibok, commended the club for its continued commitment to service.

“What we are doing here tonight is to bring our friends and associates together to support our noble causes,” he remarked, highlighting upcoming projects in feeding the hungry, environmental protection, and breast cancer awareness.
