LOCAL SPOTLIGHT: From Numbers To New Businesses: Chioma Ifeanyi-Eze’s Tech Revolution

What happens when an accountant looks beyond balance sheets and sees technology as a tool for building people?

You get Chioma Ifeanyi-Eze.

A chartered accountant who trained at PwC Nigeria and later led finance at Jumia Nigeria, Ifeanyi-Eze could easily have remained within the comfortable boundaries of corporate accounting. Instead, she built Accountinghub and began simplifying a profession many entrepreneurs find intimidating.

Then she went further.

In 2022, Accountinghub pivoted into EdTech, using technology to teach practical workplace and business skills to more people. Through Data Entry Academy, learners are exposed to dozens of digital tools covering recordkeeping, presentations, inventory, e-commerce, virtual work and artificial intelligence.

But the bigger story is not the software. It is what people can do with it.

Ifeanyi-Eze’s model recognises a stubborn African problem: brilliant business ideas often fail because their owners lack the systems, financial knowledge and digital skills to turn hustle into sustainable enterprise.

Her work is helping to close that gap.

In July 2026, Data Entry Academy won UNDP’s Get Ready 4 timbuktoo EdTech accelerator, emerging first from 1,429 applicants across Africa.

From accountant to EdTech entrepreneur, Ifeanyi-Eze is proving something important: technology becomes truly powerful when it helps people build livelihoods, businesses and futures.
