Manchester United In Advanced Talks To Sign Leicester City’s Teen Sensation Page

Manchester United have opened formal negotiations to acquire 18-year-old midfielder Louis Page from Leicester City, as the Premier League giants move to beat Arsenal and Aston Villa to one of English football’s most coveted young prospects, according to BBC.

The England Under-20 international, who was named EFL Apprentice of the Year last season, has already amassed 21 senior appearances for the Foxes, including five league starts during their relegation campaign from the Championship. His most recent outing came in Saturday’s Carabao Cup victory over Northampton Town.

Sources indicate that discussions over a transfer fee are progressing, though no agreement has been fifinalised.  Page, who turned 18 in July, signed his first professional contract with Leicester in September 2025—a deal that now requires United to pay compensation to the League One side, who have publicly labeled him “one of the brightest talents in our system.”

The pursuit comes amid growing concern at the King Power Stadium over a youth exodus, following 17-year-old forward Jeremy Monga’s recent switch to Manchester City. Page, a product of Leicester’s under-9 academy, made his senior debut against Huddersfield Town in August 2025 and has since drawn widespread interest from top-flight clubs.

While Arsenal and Villa have registered strong interest in recent weeks, United’s proactive approach places them in pole position to secure the midfielder, whose technical maturity and versatility have made him a standout outside the Premier League. Should a fee be agreed, Page would become the latest addition to United’s long-term rebuild under their current recruitment strategy.
