Nasarawa United technical adviser, Mbwas Mangut, has described his side’s upcoming fixture against Shooting Stars as a daunting but decisive encounter in the closing stages of the Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The Solid Miners are set to travel to Ibadan for a crucial Matchday 36 clash, with both sides still firmly in contention for a strong finish on the league table. Nasarawa United currently sit sixth with 53 points, just one point behind fifth-placed Shooting Stars, underlining the high stakes involved.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Mangut acknowledged the quality of the opposition and the magnitude of the challenge awaiting his team.

“The task before us is enormous because Shooting Stars are also title contenders,” he said. “It is going to be an explosive encounter, but we are preparing thoroughly and will give everything to secure a positive result.”

Mangut emphasised the importance of resilience and consistency as the league campaign approaches its conclusion, insisting that his players remain focused and determined.

“We will continue to fight until the very end of the season. Every match now is like a final, and we must approach it with the right mentality,” he added.

The clash is expected to draw significant attention, given the pedigree of both clubs and their ambitions this season. Shooting Stars, playing at home, will look to capitalise on familiar conditions, while Nasarawa United aim to build on their recent form and climb further up the standings.

With only a handful of matches remaining, the fixture could prove pivotal in shaping the final league positions, particularly in the race for continental qualification spots. Fans can anticipate a fiercely contested battle as both sides seek to assert their credentials in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
