The incident, according to witnesses, occurred along Aka Road, behind the Zenith Bank bulling opposite Etuk Street, close to the city centre.

According to Effiong Bassey, a tricycle operator along Aka Nnung Udoe road, the incident happened at about 6:45pm.

Most of those feared killed or trapped were workers at the constitution site.

Rescue efforts by residents were frantically ongoing at the time of filing this report, with emergency rescue teams calling for the intervention of the Ministry of Environment/ Solid Minerals and the State Environmental and the Waste Management Agency to immediately move in heavy equipment to ease the operation.
