Many Feared Dead In Sunday Morning Road Crash In Kogi

Unconfirmed number of persons were feared dead in a multiple accidents, which occurred on the Lokoja-Abuja Expressway in Koton Karfe town of Kogi State.

As at the time of this report, a tanker, two commercial buses and one other commercial vehicle were engulfed in flames on Sunday morning.

Eye witnesses, who were trapped on the road as a result of the incident, said the accident happened directly in front of the Kogi Local Government Secretariat in Koton Karfe at about 7:00am.

All efforts to reach the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) proved abortive as they could not be reached immediately at the time.

The number of casualties was yet to be ascertained as the vehicles involved were still in flames with soldiers said to have blocked the road for further traffic.
