Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has praised the Nigerian workers for powering the nation’s economy and shaping the future of the society.

Similarly, the Speaker of Kwara State House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, praised the workers for their resilience, assuring them of the continued support of the legislative arm of government.
Governor AbdulRazaq in the statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye extended warm greetings to men and women of both the public and private sectors whose efforts power the economy and shape the future of the society.
“For us in Kwara State, we appreciate the immense contributions of our workers — whether as civil servants, farmers, factory workers, teachers, healthcare personnel, engineers, artisans, and professionals across all sectors. Their dedication, resilience, and skills are the pillars of our growth and development.
“I reaffirm our administration’s commitment to building a Kwara where workers thrive, where decent jobs are created, where careers are continually nurtured, and where every sector is empowered to contribute meaningfully to the state’s prosperity. We are determined to implement policies that strengthen our civil service, grow the economy, attract investments, and expand job opportunities.
“Through targeted infrastructural and socioeconomic initiatives, our administration has maintained financial stability, ensured timely salary payments, supported entrepreneurship, and provided social safety nets. These actions reflect our commitment to responsible governance and sustainable development,” AbdulRazaq said.
He assured that as the world of work evolves—driven by technology, automation, and artificial intelligence, there is a need to adapt.
“That thinking is at the heart of our numerous initiatives: Innovation Hub, Visual Arts Centre, ICT centres, among others. It is crucial that we embrace change, promote excellence, and prepare ourselves not just for the jobs of today but for the opportunities of tomorrow.”
He extended heartfelt appreciation to all workers for the vital role they’ve played in his administration’s shared achievements, commending also the labour leaders for their support and partnership. “I wish everyone a fulfilling and inspiring Workers’ Day celebration.”
For his part, Danladi-Salihu in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sheu Yusuf joined the rest of the world in celebrating Nigeria’s workforce especially those driving development and progress in Kwara State.
“We would continue to acknowledge, appreciate, and celebrate your efforts and your immeasurable contributions as our backbone.
“On behalf of the Kwara State House of Assembly, I wish all our hardworking and dedicated workers a happy May Day,” the speaker said.
