A good governance advocate, leadership trainer and publicist, Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr., has commended Enugu State governor, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, saying his leadership has redefined governance in the state through what he described as bold and transformative policies.
In a statement marking the governor’s third anniversary in office, Nwaokobia said Mbah’s administration has delivered measurable progress across key sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, security and economic development.
He said the governor’s campaign slogan, “Tomorrow Is Here,” has moved beyond political messaging to become a practical reality visible in ongoing reforms and development projects across Enugu State.
“Three years ago, many saw the slogan as ambitious. Today, it has become a living reality that can be seen and felt across Enugu State. What we are witnessing is a deliberate effort to redefine governance through vision, discipline and strategic execution,” he said.
According to him, the administration has implemented a development blueprint aimed at expanding the state’s economy from about $4.4 billion to $30 billion through private-sector-led growth and large-scale infrastructure expansion.
Nwaokobia noted that ongoing road construction and urban renewal projects have improved connectivity, boosted commerce and enhanced Enugu’s attractiveness to investors.
He stressed that the projects were not cosmetic but part of a structured economic transformation agenda.
“Every road constructed and every urban renewal project executed is tied to a broader economic vision. This is not cosmetic governance; it is strategic and purposeful,” he added.
On education, he described the Smart Green Schools initiative as one of the most ambitious reforms in Nigeria’s education sector, noting that the plan to establish 260 smart schools demonstrates long-term investment in human capital development.
He also commended the construction of 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state, describing it as a major step in improving access to healthcare services at the grassroots.
Nwaokobia further praised the administration’s investment in security infrastructure, saying enhanced surveillance systems and inter-agency cooperation have improved safety and boosted investor confidence.
He said the government’s focus on agriculture, youth empowerment, women inclusion and rural development has also contributed to more inclusive economic growth.
“Enugu is steadily positioning itself as a preferred investment destination due to improved infrastructure, institutional efficiency and policy direction,” he stated.
The governance advocate added that Mbah’s administration has strengthened public service delivery through a performance-driven approach anchored on accountability and measurable outcomes.
“Governance under Mbah is no longer about routine administration but about results, impact and measurable progress,” he said.
He also commended the adoption of digital governance tools and innovation, noting that they are laying the foundation for a modern and competitive state economy.
Nwaokobia said the administration has restored public confidence in governance and created renewed optimism among residents.
“In a country where cynicism about governance is widespread, Enugu is becoming a model that demonstrates that leadership can indeed drive meaningful change,” he noted.
While acknowledging existing challenges, he said the administration has shown consistency, discipline and strategic focus in pursuing its long-term development agenda.
He urged the governor to sustain the momentum
