The Federal Government and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)’s Value Chain Development Programme (VCDP), in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), has trained women and youths on an innovation clinic in Taraba State.

The training brought producers, processors and marketers as critical components of the agricultural production value chain.

The state programme coordinator of VCDP, Mr Irmiya Musa, who opened the event, said the training was to enhance the agriculture business in the state.

Musa encouraged participants to develop the skills needed to grow their businesses from small-scale to medium- and large-scale enterprises.

He said the state government would ensure the programme’s effectiveness for the benefit of people.

Earlier, the state director of SMEDAN, Mr Bala Yusuf, said the innovation clinic was one of the support services that engaged in business diagnosis, providing grounds for entrepreneurship development.
