Human rights activist, Mr Femi Falana, SAN, has described calls in certain quarters for military takeover by some #EndBadGovernance protesters as dangerous bargain for Nigeria’s democratic project.

Falana stated this when he featured on Channels Television’s Politics Today as monitored by our correspondent on Tuesday.

The constitutional lawyer said military takeover at a time like this would take Nigeria more than 40 years back, describing the call as heinous demand from the protesters.

Falana stressed that agitators for military takeover were taking inspiration from the regime changes in Niger Republic and other West African countries.

He added that the agitation to return the country to dictatorship was an antagonistic move against Nigeria’s dogged demands for restoration of civil rule in those countries.

Security agencies have described the offense as treasonable while insisting that those arrested for flying the Russian flags will be prosecuted.
