They gave the charges respectively at the Nigerian Air Force College graduation ceremony in Makurdi and the regimental dinner in honour of passing out cadets of the 71 Regular Course, Direct Short Service Course 28 (Army) and DSSC 32 (Air Force) of Nigerian Defence Academy.

A statement from the ministry said Badaru, represented by the permanent secretary, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, emphasised the critical role of operational-level military leadership in addressing threats posed by violent non-state actors and asymmetric warfare.

Badaru underscored the significance of effective military leadership in the various theatres of operations across the country and expressed confidence in the graduands’ ability to uphold the high standards of the Nigerian military and serve as ambassadors of professionalism.

He acknowledged the NAF’s significant contributions to internal security and international missions, including airlift and humanitarian support and assured that the federal government remained committed to providing the NAF necessary resources to tackle security challenges.

The CDS in a statement by the director of defence information Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau said the regimental dinner was an important military tradition which affords the passing out cadets the rare opportunity to meet and interact with senior serving and retired military officers in a relaxed social setting.

He added that the event presented a serene atmosphere for subordinates to interact with their superiors and imbibe the virtues of military etiquette and qualities required of a gentleman officer cadet.

He reminded them that the armed forces expects so much from them in terms of regimentation.
