Mob Lynches Man For Killing Son, Nursing Mother

Delta State Police Command is combing everywhere to apprehend suspects who set ablaze a man in Evwreni community, Ughelli North local government area of the state.

Trouble started on Monday, 30th September 2024, when a man reportedly killed his son and another nursing mother was lynched and burned to death by an angry mob.

The suspect, identified as Mr Samson, smashed his son to death at about 2 am on the fateful day and further attacked and killed his neighbour, a nursing mother, simply identified as Princess, who was said to have come out with her infant to ease herself at about the same time.

A source who spoke on an anonymous condition disclosed that Samson had been behaving strangely and he was to be taken to a medical centre for medications before the unfortunate incident occurred.

“He smashed his toddler, son, macheted a woman who took her son out to the toilet to death and the youths in the process of trying to apprehend him, he injured more persons trying to resist.

“After the incident, he was finally apprehended, beaten to a stupor, and his remains was set ablaze with his motorcycle.”

The Delta State Police Command spokesman, SP Edafe Bright, confirmed the incident. “Before our men could get to the scene, the suspect had been set ablaze,” he said.

He, however, said they are on the trail of those that set the man ablaze.
