The Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers’ Council has sued for peace and security across the country to ensure stability and unhindered socioeconomic development.
In a New Year message by its publicity secretary, Dr Eberechukwu Oji, Eze Aro, in Umuahia, Abia State, the council wished the citizens a new year devoid of economic challenges, insecurity and situations that could lead to pandemonium and loss of lives.
“As we stand at the threshold of a new year, we extend our cautious but heartfelt optimism for a brighter and more prosperous 2025 for the country.
“While the challenges of the past year have been profound, they have also underscored the resilience, unity and indomitable spirit of our people.
“Let us carry forward the lessons learned and the hope that together, we can create a safer, more secure and economically stable nation,” they stated.
The council also prayed that the year would signal renewed opportunities for growth, healing and progress as well as peace, hope and meaningful change for all.
It, therefore, underlined the importance for “all of us to work collectively to address the systemic issues that have held us back and strive to uplift every citizen.”
