José Mourinho has moved quickly to impose his authority at Real Madrid, introducing four strict measures aimed at restoring discipline, professionalism and unity within the squad.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, the 63-year-old Portuguese coach identified a number of habits he believes need to change since returning to the Santiago Bernabéu and has introduced new regulations covering nutrition, punctuality, injury rehabilitation and team bonding.

Under the new regime, Real Madrid players will have less freedom over their diets, with the club’s nutritionist responsible for setting mandatory menus for meals, including breakfast and snacks. The programme is designed to ensure that players’ nutrition is tailored towards performance and physical preparation.

Punctuality has also become a priority. Players who arrive late for training will reportedly be required to complete individual gym sessions rather than join the main group.

The squad are also expected to arrive at the club’s Valdebebas training complex an hour before training sessions, reinforcing Mourinho’s demand for greater discipline and preparation.

The Portuguese manager has further centralised the club’s injury rehabilitation programme, with injured players required to undergo recovery work at the training ground under the supervision of Real Madrid’s medical and performance staff.

Players will reportedly no longer be allowed to rely on external treatment programmes involving their personal teams without the club’s approval.

Mourinho has also introduced mandatory team meals involving players and members of the coaching staff as part of an effort to strengthen relationships, improve team spirit and promote greater unity away from the pitch.

The measures are reportedly being applied across the squad without regard to a player’s status or reputation, with Mourinho insisting that no individual should receive preferential treatment.

Early reports suggest the players have responded positively to the changes as Mourinho seeks to establish a more disciplined and united environment at the Spanish giants.
