Zamfara Deputy Governor Assures Corps Members Of Warm Hospitality

The deputy governor of Zamfara State, Mani Malam Mumuni Masama Mudi, has assured National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members deployed to the state of warm hospitality.

He gave the assurance on Saturday at the UBE Training Centre, Gusau, during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course.

The deputy governor congratulated the corps members on the completion of their academic programmes and mobilisation for national service.

“Your presence here today is a testament to years of hard work and commitment to achieving your educational goals. On behalf of the Government and the good people of Zamfara State, I congratulate you and warmly welcome you to our dear state,” he said.

Mudi described Zamfara as a state blessed with abundant natural resources and a rich cultural heritage, adding that its people are known for hospitality, peaceful coexistence and strong communal values.

He urged the corps members to feel at home and take advantage of opportunities available during their service year.

The deputy governor commended previous corps members for their contributions to education, healthcare, agriculture and community development. He charged the new batch to build on those achievements.

He also highlighted the role of corps members in the country’s democratic process, noting their service as ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

“As the nation prepares for the 2027 General Elections, I call on Corps Members who may be selected for election duties to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, integrity, patriotism and a strong sense of national service,” he said.

Mudi further urged the corps members to actively participate in camp activities, especially the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED, programme, and to obey camp rules.

He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting the NYSC scheme and assured the scheme of continued cooperation.

The deputy governor thereafter declared the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II NYSC Orientation Course open in Zamfara State.
