Son of former Borno State Governor, late Mala Kachallah, Engr. Abdulsalam Mala Kachallah, has said his mission is to rescue the state and make its people proud.

He stated this after picking up his nomination forms in Abuja to contest for the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) Federal Constituency seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kachallah, who previously contested for the same House of Representatives seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 before defecting to the APC in March of the same year, said his renewed ambition was driven by a desire to reposition Borno State and restore public confidence in leadership.

The aspirant, who is the son of the late Mala Kachallah, former governor of Borno State from 1999 to 2003, described himself as a professional with vast experience in engineering and infrastructure development.

Speaking shortly after obtaining the nomination form on Monday, Kachallah said he remained committed to the growth of Maiduguri and Borno State through people-oriented representation and infrastructural development.

“The desire to make Borno great again is in our hands.

“Let us come together and fight for ourselves. The future is now, and together we can restore the lost integrity of our dear home,” he said.

He added, “Insha Allah, together we can build a progressive and enduring Maiduguri and Borno State at large. My mission is to rescue Borno, my homeland, and make the people proud.

“Borno is our only home, so striving for its greatness is non-negotiable,” he said.

Kachallah also disclosed that he is a fellow of several professional engineering bodies, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

He highlighted his involvement in infrastructure projects within the state, including contributions to the development of the Polo Grand Hotel.

Kachallah has pursued the ambition to represent the constituency since 2019 and is now renewing the push with what supporters describe as a stronger political structure and broader grassroots appeal.
