Popular social media commentator, Isaac Fayose, has shared a heartbreaking video of his wife’s battle with cancer, weeping as he spoke about her condition.
Fayose, who recently travelled to Australia to see his family, told his followers he faced a painful reality. Usually, his wife would pick him up from the airport and cook his favourite meals. This time, however, she was too weak to even say “welcome.”
In the emotional video, Fayose described sitting by her bedside, singing her favourite hymn, “Abide With Me,” in both English and Yoruba. He said that, although she could not open her eyes or speak, she gently squeezed his hand to show she could hear him.
The media personality used his personal pain to send a strong message to Nigerian politicians. He lamented that despite his wealth and his million-dollar home, money has been unable to heal his wife.
“My wealth couldn’t save my wife,” he said while in tears. “Why make other people poor? My own money couldn’t even save her.”
He criticised leaders for the poor state of hospitals in Nigeria and urged them to focus on fixing the country so that every citizen can access good healthcare.
