My Name Not Missing From List Of Cleared APC Governorship Aspirants – Alia

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has dismissed rumours that his name was missing from the list of cleared All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants participating in today’s governorship primary elections.

The governor said his name is on the list of cleared governorship aspirants and was never missing.

Alia stated that he was screened and cleared by the APC governorship screening committee headed by the national chairman of the party, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.

Taking to his Facebook page on Thursday morning to dispel the rumours, Governor Alia’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, described the governor as a “star man” and called on APC faithful to visit various ward centres and enforce consolidation through the direct primary process.

According to Kula, “Today is Governor Alia’s day. The committee that screened the sitting APC governors was headed by the national chairman of the party, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.

“The committee that screened the other aspirants was different. As such, that committee cannot publish the list of a more privileged committee that presided over the screening of sitting governors.

“Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia is a star man. During the exercise, the National Chairman rightly referred to him as his favourite governor. Today is the day. Let us go to our various ward centres and enforce consolidation. With Alia, Benue shall be great again,” he explained.

Recall that a list of cleared APC governorship aspirants had been circulating in which Governor Alia’s name was absent, while another list included Alia’s name alongside those of four other governorship aspirants.
