My name is Safiyya Danmusa. I was Born on January 14, 1994, in Dutsinma local government area of Katsina State. I am the first child of my parents

EDUCATION
I completed my primary education at the famous Supreme International School in Kano State and proceeded to FGGC Minjibir, where I sat for my Junior Secondary School examination and did excellently well. I later proceeded to the Supreme International College Kano where I completed my Secondary School education in the year 2010.
With the above progress, I went ahead to study at the Kano State University of Science and Technology, Wudil, in 2011, where I obtained my first degree in BSc. (Hons) Biology in the year 2016. I dId my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the year 2017.

CAREER
I first started my career in business while still an undergraduate at the Kano State University of Science and Technology Wudil as a means to survive hard times and as a backup for my school requirements. I specifically sold fabrics.
My career in technology started after my NYSC programme when I joined the youth mobile empowerment project of UNESCO. There, I became a certified web developer in 2018 and immediately got a job as an intern at the Mcanderson Institute of Technology, Abuja.
Interestingly, three months after my internship, I was retained as a permanent staff in the institute and I also the lead for the Microsoft Office 365 e-learning platform of the institute.
After working for about two years in there, I returned to Kano to further my studies. This time, I went to Bayero University, Kano (BUK) and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in environmental and public health.
Immediately after completing the programme, I went back to BUK for another programme in 2020, where I obtained my Master’s Degree in Health Economics.
In the year 2021, I got another job at Federal University Dutsin-ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State as a Technologist. I was also appointed as a senior research officer in the Centre for Gender Studies, Federal University Dustin-ma (FUDMA).
I am also a community manager for Women in Technology (WINTECH) of Startup, Kano from 2019 to date

MENTOR
My father is my mentor, he is my greatest support and strength and I always look up to him

INSPIRATION
I find inspiration in a variety of people and things. I would like to say my mother has been the person that greatly inspired me in life. She always had a smile on her face no matter how hard she worked. She had love and respect for everyone and always gave more than she received.

FEARS
I don’t have any fear in this life because I am conscious of the fact that everything comes from God and we cannot change our destiny.
ANY REGRET
All I can say is ‘Alhamdulillah’ No regrets in life

CHALLENGES
I will actually say that the only challenge I have now is not unconnected to social factors . Well, the state of the nation now is biting. However, we are hoping for a better and a prosperous turnaround.

BALANCING FAMILY AND CAREER
Combining business with my profession is an easy task for me. Mine is an online business and we make deliveries nationwide without stress.

LIFE IN BRIEF
Born in 1994 , Safiyya Danmusa, is a technologist and a senior research officer with the Centre for Gender Studies, Federal University Dustin-ma (FUDMA). She has dedicated her life as a web designer and facilitator, building the capacity of women, youths and the girl-child in Nigeria.
Aside her career, Danmusa promotes female aspiration in leadership positions and frowns against women being discriminated against. She strives to empower women, youths and the girl- child in digital skills, graphics design and web development.
As a young and passionate public speaker, she champions several sensitisation programmes ranging from gender-based violence, sensitisation on the imperative of girls child education, issues of drugs abuse, and sexual harassment among many others .

ADVISE TO WOMEN
My advice to women is that it is never too late to start something. My dear sisters, seeking knowledge for education is our right because there is nothing to achieve in this world without education.
You must not be in the four walls of a classroom before you become educated. Acquire knowledge and learn skills, be independent and make the best out of the resources you have. We have a lot on our hands, let us use the internet wisely.
There are a lot of free courses to learn, millions of skills and businesses to start all within our comfort zone. We can make good use of them to enhance our capacity.
