The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON ) has reaffirmed its stand that the first 40 screened private tour operator companies will run the 2024 Hajj operations.

This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the commission‘s assistant director of public affairs, Fatima Sanda Usara, yesterday.

The statement explained that the commission, after thoroughly investigating the complaints, it received against the 40 operators recommended to run the 2024 Hajj under the private sector, said the objections raised were not sufficient to overturn the qualification of the 40 approved operators.

Usara said the qualified companies convincingly met the laid down criteria vis-à-vis the capacity of operation, years of experience, historical antecedents and a clean bill of operation.

Consequently, the remaining 70 successful companies have already proceeded with mergers alongside the approved 40.

The commission urged the companies entering into agreements to forward to it the copies of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and other legal documents binding them into the business for perusal and documentation.

NAHCON chairman, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, in the statement, reassures Nigerian intending pilgrims that his leadership is determined to ensure that the 2024 Hajj fare remains within the N4,500,000 threshold and not above.
