Nasarawa youth groups under the auspices of Keffi Youth Vanguard, KYV, have asked former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to contest the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa State or face legal action.

In a statement signed yesterday by its chairman, Imran Auwal, and his General Secretary, Joshua Akawu, the group said any failure from his part to answer this clarion call would attract a legal action.

According to the group, Mr Adamu is a nationalist, a bridge builder and a visionary leader who has the ability to take Nasarawa State to greater heights.

“We, the Keffi Youth Vanguard (KYV), consisting of over ten individual youth groups in Nasarawa state have carefully analyzed the political atmosphere in the state, including the gains and missteps of all the past administrations.

“We have also critically examined the antecedent to the Governor Sule’s administration and analyzed the leadership of His Excellency. The state has achieved a lot under the current administration.

“So far, our major goal as concerned citizens of Nasarawa state is to search for an individual to whom the baton of leadership will be passed in 2027 to take the state to greater heights.

“Following a careful and comprehensive study of the political situation in Nasarawa, we have come to the conclusion that among all the political figures who have shown interest to succeed Governor Abdullahi Sule, nobody can match Mohammed Adamu’s CV.

“Mohammed Adamu has expended over thirty years of his life to advance Nigeria’s unity and strengthen democracy in the country. Our findings have shown that he is closer to the people of Nasarawa than all the possible contenders of Nasarawa governorship election in 2027.

“Essentially, we have found it expedient to call on all the good people of Nasarawa state and organizations to massively support the candidature of Mohammed Adamu come 2027.

“He is a nationalist, a bridge builder and a visionary leader who has the ability to take Nasarawa State to greater heights. He merits it and deserves to lead this state.

“We based our argument on the developmental projects His Excellency, Mohammed Adamu brought to our dear state while in service including but not limited to Police Secondary School Lafia; Police Children School Lafia; Police Children School Keffi; Police P.R.O Lafia;

“Police H.M.O Lafia; Police Clinic New Building Lafia; Police Mobile Camp Akwanga; Police Station Alagya; Big water tank Alargy; Borehole Yelwa; Solar light Alargy; police Mobile Base Toto; Big Hole, and Obi Secondary School. Three of these human-centred projects were zones to our zone, Keffi.”
