A magistrate court sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State has adjourned hearing in the case filed by a businessman, Alhaji Sani Zangina against a local musician, Dauda Adamu Abdullahi also known as Rarara.
Abdullahi, who is an online media publisher, took the Hausa musician to court for saying that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s three months in office is better than his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari’s eight years.
The musician reportedly made the comparison at a press conference, where he also declared that the Buhari administration destroyed Nigeria.
Angered by Rarara’s action, Abdullahi approached the magistrate court, praying that the musician appear before it to defend himself.
Zangina’s counsel, Abdu Na Laraba said, “We have filed a case in the court challenging Rarara and want him to appear in court either to admit what he said or deny it.”
The defence counsel, Mr A.I. Ma’aji said the court had heard the matter and objected to Rarara appearing before the court because the said statement was made in Kano not in Lafia. The magistrate, Miriam Nadabo adjourned the hearing of the case till February 2, 2024.
