The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Danladi Jatau, has urged Nigerians to embrace inter- ethnic marriage in order to promote unity, peace and cohesion in the country.
Jatau made the call yesterday during the wedding fatiha between Mr Mohammed Isimbabi and Khadijat Abdulsalam in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Isimbabi is a lawmaker representing Toto/ Gadabuke State Constituency in the Assembly.
Alhaji Mohammed Azaki, the Ohinoyi Ogye of Toto local government area, stood in for the groom’s family, while Abdulkarim Mohammed, a stakeholder in Kogi, stood in for the bride’s parents at the wedding.
The speaker called on Isimbabi to ensure justice among his three wives for sustained peace, unity and progress of his family.
He urged them to embrace peace, love, unity and effective communication for their marriage to last. (NAN)
