Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has officially received her Certificate of Return as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kogi Central Senatorial District, formally confirming her candidacy ahead of the forthcoming election.

The certificate was presented during a ceremony attended by the PDP National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and other PDP candidates from across the country.

Speaking shortly after receiving the certificate, Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed appreciation to the party leadership, delegates and supporters for the confidence reposed in her, describing the development as both an honour and a call to greater responsibility.

“This Certificate of Return is not just a document; it is a symbol of the trust and confidence that our party members and the people have placed in me. I accept it with humility, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to serve,” she said.

The Kogi Central lawmaker reiterated her commitment to effective representation, good governance and policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians.

According to her, “The PDP remains a platform of hope for millions of Nigerians. We must continue to stand together, engage our communities, and work tirelessly to earn the trust and confidence of the people.”

Akpoti-Uduaghan also stressed the need for unity within the party, urging members and supporters to remain focused on the collective objective of providing responsive and people-centred leadership.

“Our responsibility as leaders and candidates is to inspire confidence through service, integrity, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of our people,” she stated.

She further called for issue-based campaigns and sustained grassroots engagement, noting that Nigerians expect leaders who will prioritise development, justice, accountability and economic opportunities.

“The people deserve leadership that listens, understands their challenges, and works diligently to address them. We must continue to engage at the grassroots and ensure that our campaigns are centred on issues that matter most to citizens,” she added.

The presentation of the Certificate of Return marks the formal commencement of Akpoti-Uduaghan’s renewed campaign efforts as she seeks to consolidate support across Kogi Central Senatorial District.
