Navy Warns Against Unauthorised Use Of Uniforms, Insignia

The Nigerian Navy has warned against the unauthorised use of its uniforms, insignia and other accouterments indiscriminately.

The Director Information Naval Headquarters Commodore A. Adams-Aliu said it is an offense to wear Nigerian Navy uniforms without authorisation.

He said Chapter 12 section 110 (1) and (2) of the Criminal Code state that

“any person who not being a person serving in any of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, wears the uniform or any part of the uniform of such forces, or any dress having the appearance….is guilty of an offence….”.

He, therefore, called on the public to desist from wearing or appearing in Naval uniforms and accoutrements at all times, adding that anyone found in breach of these regulations could be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
