In an extraordinary act of compassion that transformed grief into enduring hope, NBM of Africa Worldwide has immortalised its late Italy South zonal president, Jeffrey Osas Iyen, with the establishment of a N20 million legacy education fund dedicated to securing the future of his only son from nursery school through university.

The initiative, unveiled during the presentation of a N20 million cheque to the bereaved family by the president of NBM of Africa Worldwide, Dr Charles Chimezie, is being celebrated as a testament to the organisation’s belief that a life devoted to service should never end with death, but should continue to inspire future generations.

Named the Jeffrey Osas Iyen Legacy Education Fund, the endowment guarantees that the late leader’s greatest dream for his son will remain alive, ensuring that the child receives uninterrupted education despite the painful loss of his father.

Presenting the cheque, Chimezie said the fund was not merely a financial assistance but a lasting covenant to preserve the legacy of a man whose life was defined by sacrifice, humility and unwavering commitment to humanity.

“At NBM of Africa Worldwide, we believe that true compassion must be demonstrated through meaningful action. This N20 million endowment reflects our collective resolve that Jeffrey Osas Iyen’s name will continue to live through hope, education and service to humanity. His dreams for his son will not perish because he is no longer with us.”

Describing the late Italy South Zonal President as an exemplary leader, devoted husband, loving father and compassionate brother, Chimezie said Iyen’s integrity, humility and selfless service earned him the admiration and respect of members across the world.

He assured the bereaved family that the organisation would continue to stand by them, stressing that the bond of brotherhood extends beyond life itself.

“No family should bear this burden alone. Today, we are not only remembering Jeffrey; we are carrying forward the values he lived for. His son will always know that his father belonged to a family that keeps its promises and honours its own.”

The organisation also reaffirmed its commitment to the widow, son and extended family, assuring them of its unwavering support in the years ahead.

According to NBM of Africa Worldwide, the legacy fund represents far more than a scholarship. It is a living monument to a man whose impact transcended titles and whose service continues to inspire those he left behind.

In an emotional farewell, the organisation declared:

“Sleep peacefully, our beloved brother. Though your voice has fallen silent, your legacy will continue to speak through every classroom your son enters, every dream he pursues and every milestone he achieves. You may no longer be here to hold his hand, but your love, your values and your sacrifice will forever light his path. Your legacy lives on.”
