The Federal Commissioner representing Lagos State on the National Population Commission (NPC) board, Saidat Olayinka Oladunjoye, has called for collaboration with media practitioners to fast-track its E-registration across Lagos State.

Oladunjoye, who made the call while addressing the press at the head office in Lagos, also disclosed that NCP is already partnering with other agencies, such as the National Orientation Agency (NOA), to sensitise everyone about development.

She added that collaborating with media practitioners would enable NPC to actualise its plan for thorough education and sensitisation reportage.

Oladunjoye disclosed that though NCP is already collaborating with the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), it will visit the office for more partnerships to ensure a hitch-free exercise.

“We are addressing the press today as part of our plan to partner with them to reach all Nigerians for our ongoing migration of registration from analogue to digitalisation, which will help to fast-track the capturing of all children from ages 0 to 17 years into a database such as the country will need for an update of data for proper planning by Federal Government.

“The media is an agent to spread the news; we want you to join us in spreading the importance of e-registration to enable new births and for those who have not been captured from age 0 to 17 to seize this opportunity to take part. This will also assist them to have NIN from birth to give room to properly documented records.’’
