NCS Facilitates N8.29bn Exports, Generates N3.05bn At Seme Border

The Seme Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), on Tuesday, said it facilitated exports worth N8.29 billion in 10 months.

In a statement made available to LEADERSHIP, the public relations officer of the command, Hussein Abdullahi, said the command generated N3.05 billion and exceeded its target by N1.08 billion.

Abdullahi said the command had a revenue target of N1.96 billion but has so far generated N3.05 billion.

According to him, the Customs Area Controllers, Compt. Timi Bomodi, said, “The Command continues to sustain tempo in harnessing all revenue components to achieve desired goals. The target for the Command for the year 2023 is N1.96 billion. As of the end of October 2023, the Command has collected N3.05 billion. The revenue figure collected exceeded the allotted target of N1.96 billion by N1.084 billion, which represents a 55.1% increase.”

Abdullahi also disclosed that the command facilitated export worth 41,867 Metric Tonnes.

“Under export, the command facilitated a total of 41,867.88 Metric Tons involving 1048 trucks of export products with Free On Board (FOB) of N8.29 billion. The Nigeria Export Supervision Scheme (NESS) paid was N41.5 million only. The surcharge paid for the period under review was N40.5 million only.”
