NDDC Board Chairman Seeks States, Private Sector Partnership

Chairman, Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chiedu Ebie, has canvassed stronger partnerships among the commission, state governments and other stakeholders to accelerate development in the region.

Ebie made the call at the 2026 Niger Delta Economic and Investment Summit in Port Harcourt, River State, according to an NDDC report on its official X handle.

He said the commission could not fulfil its mandate without contributions from partnerships and the various state governments in the region.

Ebie therefore urged stakeholders to work together to enable the Niger Delta achieve the transformation it seeks.

Also at the summit, the chairman of Access Holdings and Coronation Group, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, said the Niger Delta had received about $160 billion in federal allocations and development funding over the past 27 years, yet poverty and underdevelopment persisted across the region.

Aig-Imoukhuede said the more important question was not how much money had accrued to the region, but what productive assets had been created with the resources.

The summit brought together stakeholders to discuss economic and investment opportunities in the Niger Delta.
