The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has dismissed allegations of unfair distribution of palliatives in Cross River State, describing the claims as “baseless and misleading.”
According to the statement by the Commission’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Sealed Thompson-Wakama the distribution was conducted transparently across the nine mandate states, including Cross River, following an approved list.
“The palliatives were distributed fairly, based on an approved list,” Thompson-Wakama stated, emphasizing the Commission’s commitment to improving the lives of Niger Delta people under the leadership of Chairman Chiedu Ebie and managing director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
The NDDC also highlighted ongoing collaborations with global consultancy firm KPMG to review its corporate governance structure, an effort to enhance transparency and ethical management practices.
“We are committed to driving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by working with development partners and state governments to build a region that is socially stable, economically prosperous, and politically peaceful,” Thompson-Wakama said. However, youths from Cross River State have voiced concerns about the distribution process on social media.
