The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO), has commenced admissions into thirty undergraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a statement issued by the pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olaniyi Jacob Babayemi, the development follows the successful resource verification exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the subsequent approval granted to the new university.
He said the University aims to produce graduates equipped with practical competence and the capacity to contribute meaningfully to national development,” Prof Babayemi stated.
With this approval, he said FUNATO is now poised to admit its maiden cohort of students into thirty accredited undergraduate programmes across six colleges.
“As a new and forward-focused Federal University, FUNATO is committed to promoting academic excellence, advancing research, strengthening technological innovation, and developing highly skilled manpower in agriculture, engineering, environmental sciences, computing, and related fields.
The approved programmes span the following colleges: College of Livestock Development and Environmental Sciences with four programmes; College of Agricultural Development and Human Ecology with five programmes.
Others are; College of Engineering and Technology with three programmes, namely Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering; College of Science and Computing with ten programmes, including Software Engineering and Cyber Security; College of Plant Science and Crop Production with four programmes; and College of Environmental Design and Geospatial Technology with four programmes.
The University emphasised that it does not run part-time programmes.
