His Royal Highness, Eze Iheanacho Chinyereze Mbalewe, who ascended the throne on December 17, 2025, as Ezeoha III of Uvuru in Imo State, has called on his people to embrace peace and unity as a foundation for the community’s development.
In his inauguration speech, Ezeoha III emphasised that progress can only be achieved when residents work together for the common good.
“For Uvuru Autonomous Community, it is a new dawn of peace, love, unity, healing, forgiveness, fairness, and progress for all. Today, we dedicate Uvuru Ancient Kingdom to the Mighty, Righteous, Loving, and Holy God, who our fathers served faithfully, who fights all our battles and grants us peace on every side. As your Traditional Ruler, I will lead you with the righteousness of God,” he said.
The monarch also announced immediate plans to rebuild the community, inviting indigenes, friends, and associates to contribute to initiatives aimed at Uvuru’s betterment.
He revealed that he had already funded empowerment and skills acquisition programmes, including scholarships, just a week after his coronation.
Ezeoha III, however, appealed to troublemakers to redirect their energies toward peace and development, referencing a 15-year legal dispute that had stalled growth in the community.
He also expressed gratitude to the Imo State Government, Aboh-Mbaise authorities, fellow traditional rulers, neighbouring communities, and security agencies for their support, as well as all who contributed to making the coronation a memorable event.
Among the dignitaries present was Chief Emeka Ihedioha, a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, from the neighbouring community of Mbutu.
Uvuru Ikedinairi Ancient Kingdom, formerly known as Uvuru Ikedinairi, had its stool formally recognised by the Imo State Government on January 1, 1980, when HRH Eze Reuben Ugwuegbulem Mbalewe, father of the current Eze, was crowned as Ezeoha I.
