A non-governmental organisation, Bridge Connect Africa Initiative (BCAI), has launched Northwest youth policy development agenda and implementation framework to strengthen coordinated youth development efforts across the region.
BCAI said the endorsement of the Northwest Youth Policy Agenda marks a significant step toward translating dialogue into action.
In a statement signed by Sani Muhammad for BCAI’s communication team after its North West Youth summit held in Kaduna, the initiative said the regional development framework document was developed through extensive consultations, policy dialogues, advocacy engagements, validation sessions, and stakeholder consultations across the seven Northwest states.
According to the statement, the framework provides practical pathways for strengthening youth policy development, institutional coordination, implementation systems, financing mechanisms, monitoring frameworks, and inclusive youth participation.
“As implementation begins, state governments, development partners, civil society
organisations, and young people themselves are expected to work collaboratively to ensure
that the commitments made during the summit result in measurable improvements in youth
participation, governance, and development outcomes.
“The Northwest Youth Summit 2026 has therefore established a strong foundation for regional
cooperation and reaffirmed that young people are not merely beneficiaries of development, but essential partners in shaping the future of Northwest Nigeria,” BCAI said.
