Niger State caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for their second terms in office.
At a caucus meeting in Minna yesterday, the governor ordered the closure of Minna based Baddeggi FM radio station over alleged security breaches in its broadcasts. The governor who spoke at the meeting held at the Government House in Minna explained that the decision was taken because the daily activities of the radio station have been unethical.
Bago accused the owner of the radio station of inciting the people against the government and directed that its license be revoked.
He directed the commissioner for homeland security and commissioner of police to seal the station, and emphasised the need for the security operatives to profile the owner as his station promotes violence.
Meanwhile, the consensus reached by stakeholders of the party at the expanded caucus meeting endorsed Tinubu and Bago for their second terms.
The caucus attended by the minister of information, Mohammed Idris, laid to rest speculations that he would contest against the incumbent he lost to in 2023 at party primary.
Leaders of caucus at the National Assembly and the senator representing Niger East, Sen. Muhammad Sani Musa, moved the motion for the endorsement and was seconded by the member representing Bida/ Gbako/Katcha federal Constituency, Saidu Musa Abdul.
