Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Prof. Muhammad Umaru Ndagi as a member of the Board and Management Team of the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) to represent the North Central Zone of the country.
The governor in a statement by his chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, described the appointment as deserving and commendable.

He said the appointment of Ndagi as a zonal representative is coming at a time when the state government is also making a deliberate effort to ensure that intending pilgrims in the state have a smooth, pleasant and successful pilgrimage.
While appreciating the president for finding him worthy of the appointment, Bago assured him that Prof. Ndagi would be a good representative of the state and the North Central Zone.
He stated that the appointment of Prof. Ndagi is putting a round peg in a round hole, and that he will deploy his expertise to effectively contribute his quota in making the commission more efficient in line with the renewed hope agenda of the president.
The governor therefore called on Prof. Ndagi to uphold his dignity and integrity as well as make the state proud.
