Bauchi State Police Command has arrested six suspected kidnappers and rescued three abducted victims during an operation in Toro local government area.

The command said that it received a distress call on September 29, 2025, from a vigilant community member about an attack by unidentified individuals who abducted three male residents of Euga village in the council.

The victims were identified as Idi Umar, Idi Lawan and Musa Lawal.

In a press statement issued yesterday by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said acting swiftly, a combined team from the Toro Area Command, Toro Division and Nabordo Division, in collaboration with local security partners, launched a coordinated rescue operation.

“The team tracked the suspects to the outskirts of the village and engaged them in a professional operation that led to the safe and unharmed rescue of the victims,” he said.

Six suspects were arrested in connection with the abduction. They include Abubakar Usman, Adamu Alo, Abubakar Aliyu, Umar Habu, Abubakar Mamman Abubakar, and Shehu Sambo.

The rescued victims have since been reunited with their families in good health, while investigations are ongoing to uncover the motive behind the abduction.

Wakil added that the suspects are providing useful information to investigators and will be transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) in Bauchi for profiling before being charged in court.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.

He urged the public to remain vigilant and share timely information that could assist the police in maintaining peace and order in the state.
