Executive secretary, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Mohammad Awwal Aliyu, has expressed concern over low deposits for  the 2024 hajj seat/

He said   only 344 of the 3,592 seats allocated to the state were fully deposited for.

Sheik Aliyu spoke at an interface between the management, the newly appointed chairman of the board Sheikh Abubakar Mohammad Beji and members in Minna yesterday.

Speaking on update on hajj preparations in the state, Aliyu noted that out of the number of seats allocated, only about 520 intending pilgrims had made their payments so far and out of the 520, only 344 fully paid.

He stressed  the importance of prompt payments to secure seats for a successful and hitch-free 2024 hajj operation and  highlighted the significance of financial commitments in enabling the board to make necessary arrangements.

He said; “Out of the 520 only 344 have made the N4.5m initial deposit completely, others are yet to complete but we are hoping for their completion before the 30th December deadline.”

The interface provided an opportunity for the board members to discuss strategies to address issues, engage in open and constructive discussions to clarify their roles, seeking the board to intensify  sensitisation of the requirements and deadline for the intending pilgrims to ensure a smooth  hajj.

Chairman of the board, Sheikh Abubakar Mohammad Beji, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and assured of his commitment to ensure a seamless and memorable hajj experience for all pilgrims.

He emphasised the importance of unity, effective communication and collaboration among the board members and the management to achieve the desired goals.
