Nigeria Needs Stronger Global Partnerships For Growth – Amafibe

The project director of the Peace Ambassador Agency and convener of the Peace Achievers International Awards, Dr Kingsley Amafibe, has called for stronger global partnerships to unlock Nigeria’s economic potential, attract investment and drive sustainable development.

Amafibe made the call as he embarked on a strategic engagement in Europe ahead of the 2026 edition of the Peace Achievers International Awards.

According to a statement made available to LEADERSHIP, the Europe engagement will involve high-level meetings with prospective partners in Germany, Belgium and other European countries aimed at strengthening international collaborations for the awards while showcasing Nigeria’s investment opportunities.

He said the engagement would also provide an opportunity to interact with Nigerian businessmen, entrepreneurs and prospective investors based in Europe with a view to attracting investments and fostering partnerships that support economic growth and peace-building.

“Nigeria has enormous investment potential, but unlocking it requires stronger global partnerships, sustained investor confidence and collaboration between the public and private sectors. Our engagement in Europe is aimed at building relationships that will not only strengthen the Peace Achievers International Awards but also promote Nigeria as a destination for investment and sustainable development,” Amafibe said.

The statement noted that the Europe engagement followed the successful hosting of the 100 Most Notable Africans Leadership and Business Summit in Marrakech, Morocco, which brought together business leaders, policymakers and innovators from across Africa and beyond to promote strategic partnerships and advance development on the continent.

Amafibe also announced the launch of the Africa Real Estate Awards as part of efforts to expand the agency’s strategic initiatives and promote excellence, innovation and investment in Africa’s real estate sector.

The Peace Ambassador Agency has continued to champion initiatives that recognise individuals and organisations making significant contributions to peace, leadership and socio-economic development across Africa.

In 2025, the Peace Achievers International Awards honoured public office holders, business leaders, organisations and other distinguished personalities at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, for their contributions to peace-building, national security, humanitarian service and national development.

The agency also organised the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons in Kigali, Rwanda, an event that combined recognition of peace advocates with a fashion showcase to promote peace advocacy through culture and creativity.

Amafibe expressed optimism that the ongoing international engagements would deepen global partnerships, attract broader participation in the 2026 Peace Achievers International Awards and further strengthen initiatives promoting peace, leadership and sustainable development across Africa.
