He said the endorsement of the league targeted at exposing budding youth players to national and international limelight, clearly shows the commitment of the Sports Ministry, NFF, NPFL and FCT-FA to the growth and development of football from the grassroots and believes in the youths to project Nigerian football to the outside world.

The Ministry, NFF, NPFL and the FCT-FA had all shown their support for the commencement of the League which is expected to kick off later in the year and it will provide an avenue for young and upcoming players to display their skills and talents as well as promote development and growth of football in the country.

Adakosa, in a statement signed by the media and communication department of the N-Youth League, said the registration has commenced from June 1, 2024.

“The National Youth League cannot thank the Ministry of Sports Development, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and the Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT-FA) for endorsing this League.

“Our target is to expose budding, skilful and talented players to national and international limelight and promote Nigerian football on a global stage. With the endorsement therefore, we promise not to let Nigeria down as we will give our best in ensuring that the objective of the competition is strictly adhered to which is to get the best legs from the grassroots to project Nigerian football globally.

“We will make sure that the League is in line with the best global practices and regulations governing football worldwide” Adakosa stated.
