A Nigerian diplomat, Dr Jonathan Ojadah, has been nominated as a Hero in Peace Making for Mashujaa Day celebration in Kenya.
Ojadah, who serves as the global president of the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council (UNIPGC) and permanent representative to the United Nations, will be honoured for his contributions to peace, good governance and sustainable development in Africa.
Mashujaa Day marked annually on October 20, is Kenya’s national day to celebrate heroes and heroines for their notable impacts in the country and beyond.
According to an official letter from the National Heroes Council, chaired by Hon. Angwenyi Jimmy Nuru Ondieki, the Nigerian envoy will be recognised at a ceremony in Nairobi on October 17, 2025, ahead of the main event in Kitui County on October 18, 2025.
The event, expected to be attended by the President of Kenya, will see Ojadah decorated as a peace hero for fostering dialogue and stability in Africa.
In a congratulatory message, Dr Charles O. Wambia, CoP CEO/director, hailed Ojadah’s commitment to peace-building and governance reforms.
“Ambassador Ojadah’s recognition underscores the importance of peace making in promoting sustainable development and stability across Africa,” Wambia said.
