The Nigerian National League (NNL) is set to host a pivotal press conference on April 24, 2026, at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, as the league approaches its thrilling climax with the highly anticipated Super 4 playoffs.
This event will determine the overall champion of what has been hailed as one of the most competitive and transformative NNL seasons in recent memory.
The Super 4 tournament will bring together the top team from each group, all of whom have already secured automatic promotion to the prestigious Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). This playoff will serve as the ultimate decider for the NNL title.
This season’s success is largely attributed to strategic investment and significant structural improvements, particularly through the impactful involvement of Toptier Sports Management. Their investment has demonstrably elevated league standards, from enhanced officiating and consistent payment of match officials’ indemnities, to improved player welfare and increased professionalism. The league has also enjoyed greater broadcasting presence and wider media coverage, boosting its appeal.
On the pitch, the competition has been fierce. While Doma United and Inter Lagos have already clinched promotion with two matches remaining, the battle for the remaining Super 4 berths is intense. Clubs like Akwa United, Sporting Lagos, and Beyond Limits are locked in a determined struggle, alongside the closely watched contest between Jigawa Golden Stars and Ranchers Bees.
The April 24th press conference is expected to shed light on the Super 4 format, logistics, and the NNL’s future vision as it continues its upward trajectory in Nigerian football.
