The Nigeria National League (NNL) has announced plans to increase prize money for its Super 4 tournament, while also pledging a more organised and enhanced competition for the 2026 edition.
The Super 4 is scheduled to take place from 1 to 8 May 2026 at the Remo Stars Stadium.
Unlike last season’s expanded Super 8 format—which produced four promotion places to the top flight—the Super 4 will determine the overall champion of the 2025/2026 NNL season. The competition will feature a round-robin format involving the four conference winners.
NNL Chairman George Aluo revealed that discussions are ongoing with sponsors to enhance both the financial rewards and the tournament’s overall quality.
“We are putting modalities in place to ensure all participating teams are well catered for and enjoy the hospitality at the Remo Stars facility,” Aluo said.
“We are also in talks with our sponsors to increase the prize money, including rewards for individual awards. I can assure you that this year’s Super 4 will be more exciting and better organised.”
The initiative is part of the league’s broader efforts to improve professionalism and raise the profile of Nigeria’s second-tier competition.
