The Appeal Panel for the Ekiti State All Progressives Congress (APC) delegate Congresses has said no petitions or complaints were received against the exercise held across the state on Saturday.
The Panel Chairman, Dr Dennis Otiotio, stated this was due to the credible and transparent manner in which the exercise was conducted.
Otiotio, the Chairman of the Bayelsa State chapter of the APC, spoke on Sunday during a press conference held at the APC state secretariat in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
He noted that the delegate congress was part of the electoral procedures to elect the party flag-bearer for the 2026 governorship election.
The appeal committee chairman said, “The party appointed a five-man Appeal Panel to receive complaints or petitions from aggrieved party members regarding the conduct of the congress.
“We arrived the day before yesterday. Yesterday morning, we issued a notice, which was posted here conspicuously on the notice board of the party secretariat and in all 16 local government party secretariats.
“The notice stated that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 a.m. today, anybody who was aggrieved — who had any concern, complaint, or petition arising from the conduct of the delegate election, should submit their written complaint or petition to the secretary of the appeal panel, either through his WhatsApp number or email.
“We also announced that by 10 o’clock, we would meet to review any petition or complaint, but fortunately, because of the transparent manner in which the delegate congresses were conducted, I want to inform you that we did not receive any petition.
“So, we must thank and congratulate the committee that conducted the delegate congresses, because it shows they did an excellent job. From all the wards in the state, we did not receive any petition.’’
