Kano state Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has declared that the state government would no longer tolerate corruption, looting of public resources and societal indiscipline.
He stated this in a speech at a grand rally on the arrival of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to Kano from Abuja after his victory at the Supreme Court.
Gwarzo said, “Some disgruntled persons have attempted to challenge the will of God but were disappointed by God Almighty and today the duly elected Governor is back.
“Our message to the enemies of the public is to steer clear of the interest of the people. This government will surely fight oppression, and greed. Whosoever is not in support of the development and progress of Kano should stay away from this government.
“This government is going to restore the economic integrity of Kano state. This has faced deterioration in the past from self-centered persons who are only after their personal whims and caprices.
“We are here to work and will continue to improve infrastructure, support education, welfare and provide health facilities for the people” he said.
He explained that this is the government with the mandate of the people and opportunities will be given to youths and women to explore and benefit while calling for an end to drug abuse, phone theft and other crimes.
He thanked the public for their support and commitment to the mandate they have given to them, while assuring the public that they will not fail them.
“Today is a day of happiness and relief that we must be grateful to God Almighty, a day in which Gov Abba Kabir Yusuf arrives in Kano.
“We spent 13 hours on the way from our departing point in Kaduna to Kano receiving troops of supporters of the governor of the people voted by the people” he said.
“This government will sustain the human development projects and provide Jobs for women and youths” he added.
